Who are we?
Our Mission
The mission of Ukoafricana Dance Company is to promote and preserve the cultural heritage of Africa through dance. We aim to showcase the beauty and diversity of African dance forms, while also educating and inspiring audiences about the cultural significance behind each movement.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that dance is not just an art form, but also a language. Through dance, we are able to communicate and express ourselves in ways that words cannot. It is our hope that by sharing these dances with the world, we can bridge cultural gaps and foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of African culture.
In order to achieve our mission, we strive to provide high-quality performances, workshops, and educational programs that not only entertain, but also inform and engage audiences. We work with professional dancers and choreographers from across the African continent to create original works that reflect the richness and diversity of its dance traditions.
Additionally, we believe in giving back to the communities that inspire our work. We collaborate with local organizations to provide dance classes and workshops to underprivileged youth, as well as support cultural preservation efforts in Africa.
Ultimately, our mission is to use dance as a means of spreading joy, celebrating diversity, and fostering unity. We hope that through our performances and programs, we can inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with each other and appreciate the beauty of African culture
